A rear wheel leaning in at the top, uneven tyre wear or a knock from the back usually points to worn rear axle (trailing arm) bearings.

A shaking idle, loss of power or a flashing engine light is commonly a failing coil pack or spark plugs on the petrol engines.
03Electrical and BSI faults
Central locking, wipers, lights or dashboard warnings acting up are often traced to the BSI body control unit, connectors or earth points.
04Cooling system leaks
Ageing hoses, thermostat housings and expansion tanks can leak. Catching them early protects the engine from overheating in Sri Lankan traffic.
